May Day! May Day! May Day! I Need Help!

Hello everyone! It's a 'dangerous' period for some of you as the results are out and you are in the danger zone. What danger you say? Danger of not doing well and getting slaughtered by your parents.

I'd like to hear from you about your study method. How have your prepared for this exams and many others before? Is preparation for examinations about reading your textbooks only? Is it about attending tuition after tuition and tuition? What about in attempting examinations? Are they special things that we need to do so that we reduce that carelessness? Or do those things even matter?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Wow! I'm the first!

Well... actually in my exams, I do not sit still right in front of the study table and do assesments after assesments. And I do not even have a single tuition!(In case some of you guyz don't know about it!)
The key to getting great results is by daily revisions. After a day in school, I will just go through what the teacher had taught me.
During examinations, I will just go by my normal schedule, just taking up a weenie beetie bit of my free time to do a little more revision. To tell you the truth, I also play computer and have fun during examination times,since I am well-prepared and do not need to rush through my work and revision.
You guyz might even find out that an ENORMOUS part of your marks are taken up just by carelessness! To stop the careless errors, you can write them in front of your paper. After you have finished the paper, you are supposed to check through the paper and follow the checklist which you have listed in front of the paper. That will help you to get rid of carelessness :)
*Oh yeah, and what Mdm Suriani meant by getting slaughtered by our parents... she is just exaggerating the fact! :D

YESSSSS.
I am the first to comment! :D
Right.
Commendable, isn't it?
YES I AM FINALLY SLACKING AND ENJOYING MYSELF IN HEAVEN AFTER THE HORRIBLE EXAMINATIONS THAT MADE ME SO TIRED AND EXHAUSTED. :D
メルへヴン!
Laughs.
Alright, how did I do for...
English?
Great!
Oh how commendable.
Like real!
Though it's the highest, it was such a close fight between the trio- Xue Xian, Hui Ying and me.
Laughs.
Maths?
Abysmal!
Horrible!
Pathetic!
84/100. -_-"
Science!
I love it. :D
91/100! XD
Okay I can't tell my Chinese marks because I'd be ruining my reputation. Right.
I got such horrible marks that I'm way too embarassed to tell the rest of the class what I got for the incorrigible paper.
How did I study...?
No particular methods.
Oh right,
Sorry to say I overused the phone.
:X!
(Teachers who are reading this, please show mercy and don't kill me! :X)
HEY!
You can't totally say it's my fault as I DID study alright.
(OI OI OI HUIYING MEI YOU!!! took my PLACE!!)
Sorry about that.
Well, I did assessments and read through the textbooks.
Also, as I know quite a number of people from 6A, I asked some of them the dumb questions I didn't understand. :D
Oh, about us being slaughtered...
I think I'm the entire opposite.
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO.
I AM GETTING A PSP!!!
YES!
:D
Daddy and Mommy agreed as my birthday's coming soon too.
Oops.
I got out of point.
AGAIN.
How many times have I done it?
Uncountable! ):
Okay, I studied and CRAMMED.
Excluding Chinese. :X
I regretted it.
And for the first time in my life, I STUDIED FOR ENGLISH!
How miraculous.
You could say that because not once in my life have I lifted a finger when it comes to the English examinations.
The exception is this year.
I have a sudden urge to lift my pen. o.O
Well, I think that since we can't rewind the past, we'll just have to get what we deserve and learn from our mistakes.
Pick ourselves up from our failures, use it for motivation and strive for the best!
Persistence ad determination are the key to success, so I guess we should not stop persevering but be consistent in our work, for this is for our own good and we should also be responsible for what we do.
That's all I have to say!
I hope you all will work harder next time and don't be a disappointment.
As for me, I'm intending to strive for what I actually can achieve.
Those that I did for SA1 was not my very best.
A portion of it.
And I regretted it very much.
So, I shall buck up and work harder!
My resolutions:
-To do a minimum of at least 1-2 practice papers a day.
-To keep on task.
-To be more responsible about my work and not push it to others (sorry about that Hui Ying :X).
-To revise daily as if it were a daily routine.
-Strive for diligence.
That's all.
Goodbye! :D
P.S my birthday's on 23rd May! :D

Zzzz...
Ah ya... Still feel tired after exam leh...
Why?
Because i did not do well for my SA1 examinations...Still must study every minute and second leh!!!
Though i hv a tuition... Chinese lah! Eveyday i MUST face Chinese!!!
LOLz...
My Chinese not very gd loh. Very lan lah... Nothing to say about my Chinese results.
Chinese sooo(x100000000... Stil counting) hard sia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok. Let's get straight to the point-what is my study method???
Well, i DO study before examinations, but i still dunno why i got such lan results...
I know that it is not very gd to sleep very late at night right?
But for me...
I just can't help it.
I dunno why, but after i finish reviewing my file and stuff, i still dun wanna sleep.
Strange right?
And even though I sleep late at 12 a.m. for example, i still get up at 7+ or 8 in the morning. Maybe it's because i got used to sleeping for short hours.
U can tell me to sleep now and 1 hr later i'm still awake.
And i get tired very very easily in the morning.
I dunno why, but i just can't sleep for more than 8 hrs unless i had a really BIG night.
Sorry hoh, i got out of the point.
Very sorry hoh.
Err... What were we talking about hah?
Oh ya, about our study methods right?
Of course, revising is not just about reveiwing our textbooks. Just reading our textbooks is not enough. We should do some assesment books too right?
Yeah, and i hv 5-6 english assesment books, 2 maths assesment books, 3-4 science assesment books and 3-5 chinese assesment books(excluding my tuition books).
Quite a lot right? And i hv ALMOST no time to do them. Coz we hv sooo many homework especially for Maths that i'm going berserk.
Seriously, almost every teacher thinks that his or her class are the only ones we hv.To teachers who read this comment: No offence please, cause i mentioned 'almost', not 'every' ;).
Next question: Are there any special things we need to do to reduce carelessness in exams?
Of course. We MUST check after completing our work. Some of us are afraid of not having enough time to finish it. Well, maybe we can train ourselves before exams by setting the time needed to complete the work. If u exceed the time, maybe u will want to try again.
Another method of not losing the marks easily: we must jote down the possible careless mistakes we may make. But we must also be fast about writing it! We can't possibly spent a lot of time just writing those things down! Just write some that u think is important. Take maths for example, we must write 'UNITS?' on the front page of Section B and C. After we finish, we can check through to see if we remembered to include 'units' in our answers.
P.S. Actually my resolutions are almost the same as Qi Qing's(miaka yuki).
That's all i've got to say, bye!
Got to watch the video 'Rube Goldberg Billiards now!
Hi! I usually just revise through all that I have done and do some assessment books. But, I still watch some tv programmes. I was very surprised with my Maths results and more surprised with my mother tongue results. Although my parents did not scold me I feel kind of sad. If I do not work hard for my SA2. I will get the last position in class. I also hope that I can get the best progress award. I just finished my e-learning homework. I think my test report is okay. 82 for science 97 for maths and 95 for English.( I got 1 careless mistake for English.)
tulip7812 said...
Do you know that I am actually Yan Lin? My Chinese results surprised me because I got 90/100 180/200. I think that is really high it was higher that my P3 and 4 marks. I think my Science was good(97/100 same like Xue Xian.) But I think I can get 99/100 if I had answered the questions properly.
E-learning was fun,i only have time to do the science and maths,for maths i got full mark and science i got 35 out of 40.Not bad>jyjy<3
i'm so sad. my results was very bad. i did not revise my work. before exam, i thought that doing homework was revising my work but i was wrong!!!
we should revise what we had learnt by doing assement books.
i rather careless though. i too like hui ying write down the things that we should remember to do.
Hi. I do revise for exams but i still watch tv programmes like everyone else. Just to relieve the stress! But I was just so careless during the english exam paper. I dunno why, i checked times and times but i was still so careless. I lost a lot of marks just by being careless for my english paper!!! But I just hate it. People will always ask for your results and then you tell them your very lousy marks and they will tell someone else and it will go on and on and people will keep asking you why you get so lousy results. It's just so irratating. And then, if you tell them your very good results and they will just go "whoa". Thats the bad thing when the teacher shows everyone results, revealing the bad and good marks for everyone. OK, I admit i am sometimes a little nosy but I still can understand if they do not want to tell thier results.Ok, luckily, I still got A for all the subject and I got a merit for my higher chinese! I'm not boasting but I was not very good in Chinese.
Of coures, I will certainly piut in extra effort for SA2.
Actualyy, it's not really a big deal studying so hard for our exams. I did not do a lot of assessment books for my exams and I still scored pretty well. only people who did not really practice very frequently will study hard for thier exams. Even during exams, I was still watching television and did the usaul number of assessments my mother gives me. My secret is to relax, even during exams. Well, I guess I'm pretty relax because my mum does not scold me if I do badly. She only expects me to try my best. So that is what I think how I prepare for my exams.
